Our June Campout will be the swimming merit badge! This is a great chance to get this eagle-required badge. Scouts will be camping at Ms. Smeltzer's house and completing the requirements in the backyard and community pools.
Scouts should be confident swimmers and be familiar with strokes including: front crawl, back crawl, elementary back stroke, sidestroke, and breaststroke.
This campout is so unique that it has a special packing list. Please note it. Also, anyone who has finished the swimming merit badge already is welcome to come hang out by the pool!
Of special note for summer campers: at summer camp, scouts will need the swimming merit badge as well as the kayaking merit badge in order to completely earn the whitewater merit badge. The kayaking merit badge will be offered before camp. Scouts can still go on the whitewater trip, but without swimming and kayaking, they can't complete the merit badge.
